Tina Adair Is Back With A Brand New Single - “Prisoner’s Song” with Engelhardt Music Group | August 14, 2025

Tina Adair Unleashes High-Octane Bluegrass with New Single “Prisoner’s Song”

The GRAMMY-nominated vocalist delivers a powerhouse take on a Bill Monroe classic alongside bluegrass band royalty.

NASHVILLE, TN – Award-winning bluegrass powerhouse Tina Adair has once again proven why her name is synonymous with excellence in roots music. Her latest single, “Prisoner’s Song,” from her forthcoming album, is already blazing up the charts—landing at #1 just this past week on RadioMusicDJ.com—and thrilling audiences with its electrifying energy. The full album will be release on Engelhardt Music Group at a later date.

Written by Guy Massey and immortalized as a Bill Monroe favorite, Adair’s rendition is a high-speed, hard-driving celebration of bluegrass tradition, showcasing her trademark vocal firepower against a backdrop of blistering instrumentation. The track features an all-star lineup of musicians: Cody Kilby and Pat McGrath (acoustic guitars), Ron Stewart (fiddle), Seth Taylor (mandolin), Scott Vestal (banjo), Byron House (bass), Rob Ickes (dobro), and harmonies from none other than Ronnie McCoury. The single is co-produced by Tina Adair and Adam Engelhardt.

“I’ve been performing this song for about a decade and it’s always a crowd favorite at my shows,” Adair shares. “Nothing feels better than seeing smiling faces, clapping hands, and toes tapping from the stage. When it came time to pick a cover for the album, this one just wouldn’t let go. And having Ronnie McCoury on harmony? That’s the icing on the cake.” -Tina Adair

From her early days performing with her family band The Adairs and signing to Sugar Hill Records at just 17, Adair’s career has been a whirlwind of achievement. Her first solo hits “All You Need” and “Born Bad” set the stage for a journey that would include graduating from Belmont University, becoming Director of Advising at Belmont’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business, and co-founding the history-making, GRAMMY-nominated Sister Sadie—and becoming winners of IBMA Vocal Group of the Year (2019–2021) and Entertainer of the Year (2020).

These successes cemented Adair’s legacy, making history as the first all-female group to win those IBMA honors. The Country Music Hall of Fame recognized the band in its Country Currents series in 2021, adding yet another milestone to Adair’s storied career.

Since signing with Englehardt Music Group in 2020, Adair has delivered chart-topping hits like the #1 tearjerker “Still Got A Long Way To Go” and the acclaimed 2023 album release Here Within My Heart. This year, she’s been on a creative streak with three singles—“Let It Fall,” “Covering Up Holes,” and now “Prisoner’s Song”—dominating playlists and thrilling her fans nationwide.

Her artistry has been celebrated on the covers of Americana Rhythm Music Magazine (Aug. 2021) and Bluegrass Unlimited (Apr. 2023), with countless features in top industry outlets. And as 2025 rolls on, one thing is certain: Tina Adair is not slowing down.

Tina's fans will appreciate this video shot at her appearance in May last year on Bill Monroe's famous stage in Bean Blossom, Indiana, with her band, performing the new single, “Prisoner's Song” as she so often does as part of her regular set.

“Prisoner’s Song” is available now on all major streaming platforms and radio programmers can request the wav or mp3 download from Tina's team for airplay.
