Nashville, TN (April 5, 2024) —  “The Ties That Bind” releases to radio today, as the next focus track for the hit album, LIVING IN THE SOUTH, from Rebel Records' impactful duo, Starlett & Big John.

Bursting onto the Bluegrass scene in 2019, with Starlett Boswell Austin’s great big voice and Big John Talley’s solid guitar and supporting vocals, Starlett & Big John were poised to become a hit-making Bluegrass power duo. They were soon after signed by Rebel Records without hesitation. Since the release of LIVING IN THE SOUTH, they’ve seen countless singles on the charts and mounting praise from music critics and industry peers.

The new focus track follows previous singles that received considerable airplay and chart activity from the album including, “Straight 58,” the title track, “Living In The South,” “Makin’ Tracks To Macon,” and “Quit Quittin’ On You.” “The Ties That Band” provides an exciting new opportunity for us to turn the volume up and enjoy the creative writing and musical arrangements of Starlett & Big John.

“The song came to mind one day after I left church where we sang ‘Blessed Be the Tie That Binds.’ As I was around the house humming it later that day I picked up the bass, started playing that traditional groove and thought ‘the ties that bind, they must have come loose’ and it went from there,” Starlett said. Adding Big John, “.. we wanted to write a traditional song with a ‘Larry Sparks feel’ to it because we just love the feeling and delivery that only Larry can deliver.”
