SOUND BISCUIT PRODUCTIONS

SEVIERVILLE, TN - Sound Biscuit Productions is proud to release a solo project single from Jesse Brock, to radio today. Jesse wrote the song, "Streamliner," which features him on mandolin as well as guitar and harmony vocals.

Mandolinist, Jesse Brock is well known throughout bluegrass music with over 39 years dedicated to his craft. His expertise on mandolin has earned him countless awards and accolades over the years. Sound Biscuit Productions was thrilled when Jesse approached them with a plan for his next solo album and debut for him as a Sound Biscuit recording artist. Jesse's vision included some of the most talented musicians in bluegrass today. Each song on the forthcoming album brings something unique and fresh to the listeners ears with many originals, as well as some classic covers.

“The Sound Biscuit studio is a musical sanctuary for me. My friendship with Dave Maggard (label & studio owner, engineer & executive producer), has allowed a calmness for creativity to write as well as produce. For example, at the beginning of the first day of recording, I awoke with the words and melody to my single ‘Streamliner’ vividly in my mind. After keeping it to myself on the first session day, I played & sang what I had for Greg Blake. We took it in the next day for tracking, shared thoughts & collectively built the bass, guitar & scratch vocals. Having slept on the thoughts of branding my project, God gave me this song in a brief moment of creativity. I hope listening to “Streamliner”  lifts your spirits while taking you back to another time.” ~Jesse Brock

"Streamliner" also includes the talents of:

Greg Blake: Lead vocal
Jason Carter: Fiddle and Harmony
Russ Carson: Banjo
Barry Reed: Bass

“This project has been an amazing journey in musicianship and talent. From picking songs to arranging and producing, each step has been exciting and creatively rewarding. Having the opportunity to work collectively with this level of talent and being a part of it coming together has been humbling.”  ~ Dave Maggard, Owner / Sound Biscuit Productions

Radio programmers can now download the single from AirPlay Direct., with worldwide release date expected November 12th. The forthcoming album is expected to release in the Spring, and you won't want to miss out on the additional top shelf talent included from start to finish on this project. Stay tuned to Jesse Brock's Facebook page and website for updates and exciting announcements.

Jesse Brock began his bluegrass career with his family band at nine years old. He actually started singing at age 7, taking fiddle lessons at 8 & picked up the mandolin at 9. His first album (1983) was recorded with his family when Jesse was eleven, and later that year they played the Grand Ole Opry as the first place prize winner at Bill Monroe's Bean Blossom Band Contest. As Monroe's special guests on the Early Bird Special, C.W. Brock & the Next of Kin, played two songs. The band was later to be renamed The C.W. Brock Family.

Since then, Jesse has worked and recorded with some incredible formations including: The Lynn Morris Band (2 albums), Dale Ann Bradley (2 albums), Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper (4 albums), Audie Blaylock & Redline (2 albums) and The Gibson Bros. He has performed on stage with Ricky Skaggs, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, The Tony Rice Unit, and the list goes on.  Jesse was an integral part of Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, recording two band albums with them that were awarded IBMA's "Instrumental Album of the Year" (2009 & 2011), and also "Instrumental Group of the Year"  (2007-2010). Brock also recorded with  Michael on two Rounder Records solo projects in the early-mid 2000's: 'Flamekeeper' & 'Let 'Er Go, Boys'.

Jesse Brock has been privileged to play all over the world, making his first trip to Europe in 1997, as well as a trip to Bulgaria to record with Lilly Drumeva. Brock has since recorded in Spain as well.

Fast forward to the present day, and Jesse is super excited to release his first solo venture since 2002, a project that also received an IBMA finalist nomination. Jesse currently tours with a whole cast of bluegrass veterans in the super group, Fast Track. Fast Track has recently released a new album, and also their first, for Engelhardt Music Group in Nashville, TN.  Jesse is also accepting bookings in 2021 and beyond for album promotion, as his and the other musicians’ schedules allow.

Jesse is now living in Franklin, TN., just south of Nashville and is also an accomplished session musician, available to lend his talents to your musical project, offering vocals, mandolin, guitar, and/or bass.

“Streamliner” is a definitive chess move to showcase Jesse Brock as a producer of a traditional, yet fresh sound. Jesse has made countless contributions to our industry over 39 years, yet professionally, he shows here that he still has so much more to offer. Fans who follow Brock’s career have patiently waited for his next outing as a soloist, singer and project producer. We again hear Jesse’s artistry throughout this exciting project with his signature mandolin chops, solos and intertwining backdrop behind the vocals. Jesse’s guitar and bass skills also make an appearance on the record.

The “Streamliner” record marks the first recording for Jesse Brock and featured lead singer, Greg Blake. The two met several years ago when Blake was with Jeff Scroggins & Colorado. Jesse remembers being “blown away by the obvious power of Greg’s voice along with his pulsing guitar rhythm & solos.” Not long after, Jesse got a call from Jeff Scroggins, asking to join them on a European tour, filling in for Tristan Scroggins. After the tour, Jesse learned that Tristan would be leaving the band to pursue some other opportunities and the position needed to be filled full time. Ultimately, Jeff Scroggins decided to dissolve the long-running band following the IBMA Conference that same year.

“Amidst the many wonderful instrumental albums available, I don’t share in the enthusiasm of shredding licks on one’s instrument only to dazzle the fans. I feel that by using my time wisely and involving a broad range of talent is a better use of my time at this point in my career. Like so many of my peers, I haven’t built a grand repertoire of tunes, though I do have a few I’m known for. I’d be proud to be considered somewhat as a proverbial mason, providing the mortar that helps hold a band together whether on stage or in the studio. That is where I feel at home, and how my skills are best put to use.”  ~Jesse Brock
